Doctor's Appointment I am rejoicing that they didn't find anything wrong with Mason, however we aren't really further than we were before we went. She checked him for hand/foot/mouth disease and that was negative. She ended up finding that his bug bites are "normal", she said that he is just going to be that allergic to them--that's not good, but she did say that we can use bug spray on him to try to keep him from getting bit. The rash under his chin is from throwing up, like I thought. So, we are treating the bites and the rash with Hydrocortizone cream--hopefully they will be better in a few days. As for the throwing up, she thinks he is teething which is causing him to throw up more. Apparently, babies who are teething swallow a lot of drool and for babies with acid reflux it causes more acid. She wanted us to try the baby Zantac again. Since the first time he was on it he was only 6 weeks old his system probably couldn't handle it, but now that he is older she thinks it won't mess with him anymore. Pray that is true!! Overall, we know that he is healthy and happy--just masked under throw up, two big red dots and a little red rash!

Not sure what's going on...

Tomorrow at 8:15 we have a Dr.'s appointment for Mason. We aren't sure what is going on with him right now. Last Thursday he got two mosquito bites, one on his arm and one on his knuckle. They are extremely red and kind of rashy and have not healed. We tried some Benedryl but that only helped until it wore off. He's also throwing up a lot more than usual. I know they say he has acid reflux but this is atleast half of what he is eating or more. Today he has become very fussy and that's not like him at all. Hopefully, we can get this all straightened out tomorrow!! Pray that we get good news and we find out something that can help!

He LOVES his feet!

He was seriously sleeping while holding his foot!

We aren't really sure how this happened. He was playing with his feet and the next thing we knew it looked like this!

Just Having Fun!

Mason loves to play on Mommy and Daddy's bed. He was playing with Apollo and laughing at Daddy! What you can't see from the pictures is every time we wanted to take a picture of him on his belly he would flop over on his back! He enjoyed every minute of "playing" with Mommy and Daddy!

He's so sleepy...

Mason is so funny when I want to wake him up. As you can see from the pictures he is so cute! Bobby and I love to watch him sleep! It's like he just wants to say "Mommy please leave me alone!"

Not such a good day...

Well, today has not been a good day in the Noble household. Mason somehow got a bite right in the middle of his forehead, we are assuming it is a mosquito bite. He has had diarrhea four times today..that's a lot of poop to clean up! We went grocery shopping and he cried in the car for about 45 minutes straight and nothing would calm him. As if all that wasn't enough, he wouldn't eat at bedtime. I tried giving him his usual bottle...after 30 minutes he hadn't drank a drop of it. I finally got him to drink some and he drank about an ounce. Finally after 45 minutes of trying I gave up and tried to breastfeed him, that went better and he eat some but still not a lot. sum it all up, I think this is going to be a long night! I am praying that he will sleep through the night and tomorrow will be a much better day!

My two favorite men...

So Saturday morning Bobby and Mason decided to "sleep in". Mason loves when he gets to sleep with Daddy!!

Remote Hog...

Today Mason found out what the remote is. It was laying on the arm of the sofa when I was holding him. He picked it up and started pushing buttons and rubbing it. He must like the "bumpiness" of the buttons. He doesn't want to give it up, he's definitely going to be a remote hog!

Places to go and people to see...

So Mason absolutely loves his Jeep! He will sit and laugh and laugh. We occationally sit it in front of the TV and he will watch while he is playing in it. I also give him his sippy cup while he is in it...of course I point out how you shouldn't "drink and drive"--I want him to pay attention to the road (well, actually the carpet..ha ha) He has started to beep the horn with his head instead of his hand...which is very funny to watch. I can't wait until he starts walking in it and you see a little Jeep going all over the house!

"I can do it all by myself" was a very big day for us. For months now I have been working with Mason on all the physical things, tummy time, sign language, trying to sit up and such. Well today the months of trying finally appeared to be working. Mason sat up on by himself! He used his arms to stable himself, but he did it all alone. I normally let him topple over so he can learn what happens...but today when I let go he put his arms out and held himself up! We were so excited that of course Bobby and Benton grabbed a camera to capture the moment. I tried it a few times and every time he put his little arms out and just sat there so proud, as if to say
"Look Mommy, I can do it all by myself"!

Mason's 4 month check-up!

Wow--where did the time go. It seems like yesterday we were taking him in for his 48 hour visit. It's amazing how fast the time goes but how some moments are frozen in time. Well..since Mason is part of a research study for immunizations (not experimental ones, just on the time that a booster should be given) we have advantages that "normal" patients don't. When we walk in we get a special nurse who also happens to be our personal contact that we call her direct line for everything! First, they wanted to weigh him of course, this is the scariest moment for me, because as most of you know he has been "under weight" since the hospital. Our doctor hasn't been concerned thus far but last time he told me we needed to monitor it. Well...he was 13.5 lbs, which is on the chart and good. He is 25 inches long, which is good too. He had to have three shots today...but he took it like a trooper! He gets Snoopy bandaids (that will come back up later on). Dr. Andrews said everything looked great and we had a perfect baby, but we already knew that. The best part....the nurse came in with an envelope and said "this is for you". I looked in it and it was a check for $100. Because he is in the study, not only do we not have to pay for appointments, we also get compensated for our time and travel! That was a great surprise.

Anyway, moving on. When we got home Mason slept most of the afternoon and evening until bath time. I woke him up for his bath but decided to read before bath tonight because Bobby had bought him some new books and I was anxious to read them. (Normally Bobby reads but tonight Mason got 2 for 1 and we both read to him.) Bobby bought a nursery rhyme book that has every rhyme you can imagine in it! This is a great book. I started reading and found that Mason couldn't stop laughing at it. I read everything from Peter Piper to Old McDonald to Little Jack Horner. He had the biggest smile and he just loved it. Bobby finished Old McDonald and read a few more to him before bath time.

Bath time is one of my favorite, if not the favorite, times of day. It was a normal bath except I had to take his bandaids off....which I HATE to do. First, Mason felt like he needed to turn sideways in his bathtub with his feet hanging off one side and his head hanging off the other..which again he laughed at! After I turned him about 4 times he finally stayed the way he belonged and it was time to remove the 3 Snoopys he had. (I am convinced he is going to grow up with a complex about Snoopy because that is what they use for shots) I told him it was time to take them off and he was so still while they came off and they peeled right off in the soapy water. The funny thing is I held them up for him to see and he made the sadest fast...he got the lip like he was about to cry, not because it hurt, but because now they weren't on him anymore! So apparently he likes having green dots all over his legs!

Every day I realize how blessed I am but there are moments like that when I think I am the luckiest mom in the whole world!

Starting to Blog today my little boy had his four month check-up and I realized he's growing so fast! On the way home from the doctor Bobby and I were trying to figure out how to keep everyone more involved and updated on Mason. It seems that there is never enough time in the day to make all the calls we need to make and send all the emails we need to send! Hopefully, this is the start of something great for all involved. I'm sure eventually you will see a few "notes" from Mason on here because he loves the computer and loves to push buttons! Basically this is our connection to our family and friends when everyday things take away from extraordinary moments!

Check back often....because life with a baby is ever changing!
